Intelligent Document Recognition

Written by  Administrator

Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR) is a combination of technologies that enables the process of automatic document recognition, routing, and the extraction and use of information from these documents based on specific rules.

To achieve these tasks, a set of innovative technologies are employed, allowing enterprises to rationalise their document flow. With the use of IDR technologies, together with a digitisation platform, enterprises can significantly reduce the manual work required for the recognition, classification and filing of critical business documents, reducing processing costs, improving business processes, and increasing productivity.

Critical business processes, such as the processing of a loan application, utilise and illustrate the advantages of the consolidated classification of documents, the extraction of information from these documents, and their management by a Document Management system.

By working with a wide range of document types and multiple departments, different locations of an enterprise or among many enterprises, an organisation is able to speed up information routing and process optimisation.

Suggestions for using IDR Technology

  • Data flow rationalization—By using different text and image technologies, an IDR system can manage multiple document types within the context of a specific digitisation flow, including structured documents (e.g. forms), semi-structured documents (e.g. invoices, insurance coverage lists) and unstructured documents (e.g. correspondence, legal documents).
  • Reduction of digitisation and preparation time and cost—Through the automatic recognition of the proper document type without manual pre-classification, bar codes or special divider pages.
  • Optimisation of operating processes—By reducing the preparation time needed to digitise a document, document routing is speeded up and business process efficiency is maximised.
