Uni Systems participates in three EU-funded research projects focusing on cybersecurity

The evolving digital landscape calls for increased cybersecurity strategies and integrated models. To that end, cybersecurity consists an essential component of the Recovery Plan for Europe, the EU Security Union Strategy and Shaping Europe’s Digital Future programmes with main aim ensuring secure services and digital tools for European citizens. 

Uni Systems participates in three EU-funded research projects focusing on cybersecurity, PUZZLE, SANCUS, and SPIDER: 

PUZZLE
SMEs&MEs have an important role in the European economy, but mostly lack cybersecurity awareness, and can allocate limited resources – both technical and human – to fight cyber risks. Consequently, they are an easier target for hacking attacks compared to large organizations. 
PUZZLE will implement a highly usable cybersecurity, privacy and data protection management marketplace targeted at SMEs&MEs. 

SANCUS
Network virtualization, cloud computing and their combination with 5G technology standards provided new perspectives to organizations and especially Industry 4.0. However, their increasing popularity have also attracted the attention of malicious parties, and thereby, conventional cybersecurity solutions start becoming obsolete. 
SANCUS draws on formalising – for the first time – the logic of the notions of cybersecurity and digital privacy by means of final formulas and fusing them into optimisation strategies, for truly optimal defense recommendation in a dynamic manner. 

SPIDER
Since 5G is not an incremental advancement to 4G, security systems should also be re-designed according to its new design principles and architectural requirements. SPIDER introduces an innovative cyber-range platform for modern 5G deployments. 
The vision of SPIDER is to deliver a next-generation Cyber Range as a Service (CRaaS) platform for the telecommunications domain and its fifth generation (5G), offering cybersecurity emulation, training and investment decision support.
